Abdel Ghaffar Family

The founder of the family is Ahmed Abdel Ghaffar El-Kabir. From Menoufia Egypt. He served as an agent in the state council. He married Mrs. Fatoum Shams-Eldin Bey Hamouda The Daughter of Shams-Eldin Hamouda Who is the one of the notables from Gharbia Egypt, and they had five children. He built his house, which was called Al-Dawar. It had the mayor's room, a large hall, and a small hall. The small hall on the right was called Takhtabosh, which means Peacock House in Persian. It contained five apartments, one for each child. This house was demolished in 1974 and sold as ruins for 3,000 Egyptian pounds. Engineer Adel Abdel Ghaffar took charge of demolishing the house and selling it on behalf of the Heirs, the sons of Shams ELdin Pasha Abdel Ghaffar and the sons of Ahmed Pasha Abdel Ghaffar. he also expanded Sidi Ezz Eldin building founded by his father Ahmed Abdel Ghaffar. it had been a tradition for every man to name his son Ahmed until Ahmed Ahmed Othman Abdel Ghaffar broke the tradition 1968 becoming the seventh ahmed according to the novel.
